Chores, Rest, and Food. Always Food...

We didn't go anywhere today.   Just chores, rest, and reading.

I slept in to 0730 when I remembered that I had early morning meetings.   I dashed upstairs, hopped on the computer and was present.   I did have time to get a cup of coffee, so all was good.

Today's chores for us:

* Clean all sea strainers (5 of them)

* Clean both bathrooms (called "heads" on a boat)

* Vacuum and dust

* Laundry

* Wash the outside of the boat

* Other misc maintenance items

Since, I essentially skipped breakfast, we went out to the local lunch place.   Nothing special, standard fare.

A nap this afternoon in my favorite chair.

Just like Portland, OR.   We were inundated with crows about 1900 (7:00pm).   They were swarming and alighted atop the breakwater (see picture).   In Portland they fly around and hang out on the downtown building tops.   And then they all disappear.   Same here, substitute the breakwater for tall buildings...

Dinner.

Salad, and pepper-sausage-asparagus in a cream sauce over cheese tortellini.   Darn tasty.   We always cook from scratch, very little is prepared/packaged food.   All produce & protein are fresh and usually organic, but sometimes organic isn't available.

I paired the tortellini dish with a 2012 Piocho Happy Canyon Vineyards Bordeaux Blend.   Piocho is a stunningly good blend.   It's a classic Bordeaux blend with CA ripeness and power.  I really love their wines.

Note the varietals used in this blend.   Every year is a slightly different blend, but this is always a very tasty wine of great value to my buds.

Tomorrow the plan is to head to Skagway, about 15 miles north.   Presuming we make it there, Skagway will be our northernmost point on this adventure at about 59.3 N.   Almost made it to 60N, but not quite!   Of course, this is all dependent upon whether there is a slip for us in Skagway as there is no place to anchor there.   We will see in the morning.
