Or Mr Toad’s Wild Ride…

We hit 17.2kts northbound through Seymour Narrows just north of Campbell River.   Pretty exciting for a boat only going 7.7kts through the water!   Not to mention 25kts of wind right on our nose too.   That should have made for large uncomfortable waves as they stack up (when wind and current oppose each other, the waves become very large, steep, and close together).   But for some reason, that didn’t happen.   It was a pretty comfortable ride north.

We are off to Blind Channel Resort where we will wait for the change of current to be again in our direction of travel.   Then onwards to a safe, but dull Port Harvey tonight.

Karen is driving and playing the counter-currents along the western shore, so we are making excellent time.   We elected to skip Port Harvey and continue on to Port McNeill where we pulled into a slip at about 1800 hours.   Really great progress!
