Prince Rupert Redux

Yesterday we departed Ketchikan at 0530 as we had 86 miles to Prince Rupert, and we lost 1 hour with the time zone change from Alaska to Pacific Time.   We arrived on schedule at 1730 (5:30pm); almost exactly 12hrs later.

Underway crossing Dixon Entrance.   Perfect conditions!   Look at that flat water!

We passed by this beautiful lighthouse at Green Island, just north of Prince Rupert.

Lots of humpback whales around.   Spouts from all points, but none very close.   This was as close as we got to them...   I assure you that there is at least one humpback whale in this picture, and this is what they really look like - almost invisible!

Here's a picture as we were entering Prince Rupert from Venn Passage.

Dinner was had at the local Crest Hotel/Restaurant in downtown Prince Rupert.   Karen had the Halibut Cheeks, and I had the Indian Buttered Chicken.   All quite good.  We had the corner table by the windows, great view.

Yup, that is a Stag's Leap 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon.   It paired well with the Buttered Chicken; probably not so with the Halibut Cheeks...

Today was a lazy day.   Slept in, sort of.   I had to get up for an early morning meeting, then I went back to bed...   We had a nice basic breakfast aboard and then headed out to walk the ton and visit Peter's favorite coffee shop, Cowpuccino.  With a name like that it has to be good, right?   Actually, this bay is named Cow Bay, but still.

Beautiful sunset tonight.

Tomorrow, we depart at 0600 for Lowe Inlet, 56 miles to the SSE, where we will hopefully see more bears feeding at the waterfall that cascades into the bay.

Therefore, it's bedtime for us!

G'night Y'all.
