Blind Channel Resort

The "Big Cedar" at Blind Channel Resort and a couple of heads.   A few more relevant pictures, below...

In the middle of nowhere, there lies a channel, overlooked by early explorers.  This undiscovered channel connects Johnstone Strait to the inland channel of Cordero.   How could they have missed this?   Perhaps they were blind?   Well, that's the story they shared, and I'm sticking to it.

Today on this "Blind Channel" channel sits Blind Channel Resort, situated in an indent on the north side of the channel on West Thurlow Island.   Boaters looking to sit out the serious Johnstone Strait currents/winds or the inland route's Green Point Rapids find Blind Channel to be ideally situated.   And, it's not hard to find!

We departed Waddington Bay at 1058 on Saturday 9/7 after spending a few days there on the anchor.  What a lovely place; we will be back.

And we arrived at Blind Channel Resort about 1500.

After a few days stranded on the boat, it was time to stretch our legs and hike, that's how we wound up at the Big Cedar.   All-in, it was about a 2-mile hike.
The unnamed photographer, on the bridge.
Look at the thick moss on this tree.   It was 2" deep, more in some places.

After our hike, we read, napped, and prepared for dinner out at the Cedar Post Restaurant.   The Cedar Post was run for years (1970-recent) by the Richter family and Annemarie Richter's original German recipes are still in use today.   They feature German dishes like Schnitzels and such; and the food, service, ambiance, expansive views, etc. are excellent.
And a nice French St. Emilion too!   It went really well with my Bavarian Pot Roast.

Here are two pictures, afternoon and evening.

Gute Nacht.
