Nanaimo to Montague Harbour
Who said rapids are only in rivers? This is about 4knots against us in Dodd's Narrows.
Yesterday, we went out for breakfast at Gabriel's Gourmet Cafe. Usually, we breakfast aboard as Karen makes the best Mexi breakfasts. On this day, we changed it up. I had the eggs Benedict & Karen had the coconut milk yogurt pancakes. All pretty tasty.
The hike back from the cafe yielded a number of picturesque opportunities, so here they are:
And a bit later at sunset, about 1945 (7:45 pm).
A view of the Nanaimo inner harbour.
An old boat wedged between the dock and the riprap shore.
Looking out of the inner harbour to the north.
We departed Nanaimo about 1330 and headed south through Dodd's Narrows to Montague Harbour in the Southern Gulf Islands.
Here we are entering the north entrance to Montague Harbour.
Montague Harbour is one of our favorite anchorages in the area. Apparently, a lot of other people think so too. Whenever we get here, we find more and more mooring balls consuming space. I'm not sure of the size of vessel allowed on a mooring ball, but they make me uncomfortable. I'd rather use my own ground tackle.
The picture makes the other boats look far way. I assure you they are not.
An evening shot. And a bit later at sunset, about 1945 (7:45 pm).
And diner tonight. Broccoli Beef and Chianti Classico, a traditional combination? Right? Let's ask Marco Polo...
Wǎn'ān Ciao.
Living the dream! Makes me wistful!!
