Hauled!

A boy and his prop...

Yea!   Today we got Blue Redd hauled, the props swapped, back in the water with the old prop, and back to the dock - all without any damage to anything or anyone.

We missed the pickup time for The Prop Shop to collect the prop, so Brent lent me his truck (THANK YOU, Brent!!!) so we could deliver it to them.

Karen & I had a lovely road trip to Mukilteo as that is where "The Prop Shop" is located.   To my surprise, once the prop was delivered, they started work immediately and said they would have it ready for pickup at 10:00am tomorrow!  Can't complain about that customer service!

This picture is of John at The Prop Shop, taking the singing prop out of the back of Brent's truck.   And my supervisory skills are on full display in the background...

Our boatyard, PMC, won't be able to haul us again to swap props back to our de-sung new 5-blade prop until Wednesday at 1:00pm.   Being the optimistic soul that I am, I'm hope for a late afternoon departure.   Maybe we will head for Reid Harbor, just at the north edge of the US boundary and just south of Bedwell Harbour, our preferred Canadian port of entry.  Maybe...

Just some more pictures of our haulout.

Blue Redd coming out of the water.
Moving to the safety blocks (you can see one on the ground just in front of Blue Redd's nose.   They, wisely, block the boat when workers are underneath so no one gets accidentally crushed should the boat fall.   There are a series of 4 or 5 blocks along the entire keel.
Just a picture along the port side looking aft.   You can see the stabilizer fin hanging down between the forward and aft straps.

PMC's Travelift is named "Miss Katie".   I haven't gotten the story yet, but I'm sure I'm going to like it when I hear it.   Miss Katie can pick up boats up to 200 tons (400,000lbs).   We weigh-in at about 125,000lbs, so we are good.

Tomorrow will kick off with a couple of Sales calls and then a run to Mukilteo to pick up the prop and deliver it to PMC.   Likely some final provisioning, last minute fixing, some running around, a bit of wondering what we've forgotten, etc.

Off to bed for us.   Gute Nacht.
