Help Me Help You


Is anyone out there reading these blogs?   Other than a comment from Ronny (Thank You), I haven't received any feedback.

Are any of you enjoying them?   Would you like to see more or less of something?  More pictures of Karen, wildlife, scenery, Blue Redd, other boats, me anything?   Fewer pictures?   More narrative?  Only pictures?  Got any questions about the area, boating, the ocean, Blue Redd, us, how we do something, etc.?

Please let me know so I can make my ramblings more interesting and more valuable to you.   And no, you can't vote for stop blogging!

    Happy Father's Day to you today, Peter! I am here - but honestly have only checked in a couple of times - but I have checked out your blog! I always love PICTURES! As they say, they are worth a thousand words. :) Slug hugs to both you & Karen!!!!

      A bit belated, but Happy Fathers Day to Matthew too. I keep your Dad in my thoughts as well. He was a big part of my life, and I miss him.

      Thank you! And yes - Dad was sure one of a kind. I think of him pretty much daily. Every time I "channel daddy" and fix something, or do something most women wouldn't do. I thank him for raising me like he did and teaching me so much about life. :)

    I haven’t commented cause I had to login and I’m lazy. But I broke down and did it, I do pop in to read the blog and I agree pictures! I’ve been enjoying the writing style but honestly do the blog for yourself not us. As long as you are enjoying making the blog posts then it’s worth it. It’s a little history for yourself to remember the trips by :)

And what we did or didn't do about it... Kabola furnace ship hot water loop, inop. ·        We never did find the fix for this.    Costica (Kabola genius) was aboard to help diagnose while we were still in Anacortes. Windlass ·        Turned out to be the breaker (Doh!).    Just closed the breaker and voi-la!    It worked. Thrusters (bow & stern).   When we moved to Lithium batteries and installed new chargers, we forgot to account for the AGMs on the thrusters, so they had no chargers.    ·        Installed AC-DC chargers (bow and stern) that run off the inverter.    Not ideal, but it was expeditious.    Woody came to Campbell River and brought two chargers and installed them – Thanks, Woody. In Foggy Bay, Alaska

We are experimenting with Blogger.   Please be patient and we welcome all well-intentioned advice. This morning at 0742, we departed Prince Rupert, BC (see pic on right) for Brundige Inlet, BC, but after a few hours of motoring NNW, the weather was so favorable in Dixon Entrance that we decided to continue on to Foggy Bay, Alaska.   We cleared US Customs while underway via CBPRoam without any issues.   We snaked into the inner bay and dropped the hook at 1422.   And Foggy Bay is aptly named; visibility is about 1/2 mile as verified by radar. Foggy Bay has a super tight tricky entrance to the inner bay.   Beware the known uncharted rock just south of the islet as you enter the inner channel (I added it to our charts, see pic below).  After a scary bit of steering to avoid what I thought were rocky shoals along the east side of the west islands, we are at last anchored in the inner bay; 35’ deep with 115’ of chain out; safe and snug.   The “rocky shoals”...
