Another Day, Another Salmon...

Another Day, another Salmon...

We departed beautiful, serene Takatz Bay about 0800 this morning bound for Read Island Cove on the mainland, just north of Petersburg, AK; about 64 miles away.

Did I mention that this place is really beautiful?

I just had to include a few more pictures to share with you all.

This guy was about 30 yards (maybe less) from the boat.   I had to jam it into neutral so as to not run over him.

Here's the full video too, courtesy of Nicki.

Not long after that, Bill caught his salmon!  Dinner, again (see cover photo)!
And here are some more pictures of Chatham Strait and Frederick Sound.

We thank thee, Oh salmon, for you are very tasty and nutritious.   Being the bad fisherman that I am, we are done when we catch all we can eat today.   We don't catch the limit, nor store frozen fish.   We just catch, eat, and catch again.

And here is our intrepid fisherman, Bill, after a hard day's work.

Tonight's salmon was prepared Asian style in a light (5-min marinade) of lemon, sesame oil, light soy, ginger, and garlic.   Then simply grilled and basted.   Served over rice with green beans.   Soy and wasabi on the side.

Tonight's odd wine paring was a Long Cellars Carmenere.   Not a perfect paring, but we suffered through and made it work!

At low tide, the shore gets mighty close...   That rock outcropping is only 25 yards away!   And we've got 14' under the keel.   We should be good.

We were treated to a lovely sunset tonight.   2005 (10:05 pm) ish...

See you all tomorrow.   Good Night...
