Cowpuccino in Prince Rupert

Looking towards the northwest from the dock in Prince Rupert last night.

Saturday morning breakfast was at the local coffee shop, Cowpuccino.   This is located in Cow Bay, so named for the cargo that was loaded/exported from the interior of Canada.

With a name like that, we had to go there...
And the goodies they have, oh my!

Then a hike through the Sunken Gardens, located in a former quarry next to the courthouse.

We spotted this old steam roller there, and thought of you, Luke.

Boat chores galore was the main calling for the day.  So, we cleaned the engine room, changed all water filters, took out the trash, vacuumed, and otherwise tidied things up.  Fortunately, there are no pictures to bore you with of us cleaning.

Our friends, Pam & Rick, have a Selene 47 named Jean Marie.   We first met them in Sitka when Rick helped us out with dock lines as we were coming in.  Anyway, they joined us for appetizers and non-alcoholic beverages.   They had reservations at the Crest Hotel for dinner where we ate the night before, so they headed out about 1800.

We decided to dine at the Breakers Pub at the head of the marina instead.
Dessert.   Cheesecake with butterscotch sauce.

Having eaten too much, Karen & I went for an evening stroll around the docks.
Sharp-eyed Karen spotted this seagull atop the breakwater (pipe) at the marina.
Our Blue Redd in the fading evening light.

Time for us to checkout for the day and head to bed.

Good Night.

  1. Sure took summer a while to get there, but it looks like it was worth the wait. Gorgeous!

  2. Alaska is really spectacular, even more so when the sun is out. As a PNWer, I think it’s beautiful in the rain and fog too.
