Gone Fish'n...
We had glorious sunshine today, between the clouds anyway. Today's coveted cover photo is from Karen. This is our anchorage in South Magoun Cove, just west of Sitka.A lazy morning's start as most of us (Karen & I) slept in. I was up late last night blogging... This picture is of De Groff Bay, last night's anchorage. We breakfasted and then scooted out the very narrow and twisty entrance/exit to this land-locked bay. Note the blue sky!!!
Entering tonight's anchorage, South Magoun Cove. The Magoun Islands consist of a number of small islets and islands and make-up their own little ecosystem. They are beautiful. What do you think?
Is this picturesque or what?
We had to depart by 1100 or the tide would be so low as to cause me undue stress. As it turned out, we saw no less than 15' depths at this point.
For reference, the narrow point in the picture is only about 3x the beam (width) of our boat, and it seems like way less than that.

Diner was... Halibut! Yes! Tonight I did it Mexican style. We had grilled halibut over refried black beans in tomatillo salsa with snap peas and a spinach salad - all fresh, of course. The halibut was cooked perfectly and just melted! This preparation is one of my absolute favorite ways to have halibut or salmon.
This was paired with a couple of red wines from Long Cellars. I don't like Carmenere, but I love this one. And the Merlot-led Denner blend is wonderful.
Buenos Noches...
Beautiful pictures. Love the colors!
