Blind Channel Rapids viewed from the Resort's docks. You can't really see it, but the water out there is moving at about 4knots and it sounds like river rapids.Capt. Ross had us off the docks by 0900. We headed towards Octopus Islands Provincial Marine Park, about 22 miles away.
The challenge for today and the next few days is wind. The forecast is for 30-35knots from the NW. In Johnstone Strait we can expect significant acceleration that could double the wind speed. The lighthouse at Chatham Point in Johnstone Strait. This is the dividing point between the Broughton Islands to the north, and the Discovery Islands to the south. It is also the unofficial dividing point in the weather which tends to be significantly windier north of here.
