Yosemite Valley, but Flooded...
Mt. Foley near the head of Prince of Wales Reach on the way to Princess Louisa Inlet. This shack and fishing boat we saw just as we departed from Backeddy Marina, near Egmont, BC.
Some photos as we head up the channel to Princess Louisa Inlet.
We entered the rapids at high slack, so they were nothing. When running full on the currents can reach 7 knots with some very challenging overfalls and large waves. With only 20' depths and a right-angle turn, this can get rather interesting in a hurry.
It's another 4 miles from the rapids to the head of the bay and Chatterbox Falls where we tied up to a mooring ball for our stay. This photo is the view from our mooring with Chatterbox Falls in the background below the 4,000' granite cliffs that surround this inlet.
As we motor up to Chatterbox Falls, our depth sounder reports 400'-500' depths the entire way. It is nigh-on impossible to anchor except right by the steep walls. Fortunately, the Park Service established mooring balls for us boaters to use.
Back to the dink and race at high-speed (Ross is driving after all) over to another part of the park.
It is hard to get a sense of scale here as these mountains are really high. Here, is a picture of our boat (tiny dot on the left) with one of the shorter mountains at only about 2,000' behind us.Yup, we are in the Princess Louisa Marine Provincial Park. Here's the sign to prove it!
Pho dinner again, courtesy of Chef Ross.
Sunset in Princess Louisa. Very odd light, made for a cool photo as we look south southwest to the entrance of the inlet/bay.
This place looks like Yosemite Valley, but with more water...
We launched Roe and set out for the park dock by the falls.
Note the pale milk-blue of the water. That is from the massive glacial sediments from the glaciers and high valleys that feed the river.
This person keeps ending up in my photos. No matter where I go, there she is...Note the pale milk-blue of the water. That is from the massive glacial sediments from the glaciers and high valleys that feed the river.
And look at this big fern. It is about 8' in diameter. Not my grandmom's Boston Fern!
One of the many waterfalls that flow from the high mountain valleys and glaciers. This bay is surrounded by waterfalls.

Good Night All.

One of my cousin's favorite places. She and her significant other would spend a week or so there when they were boating.
