Departure Eve, We Hope!
She (Blue Redd) is close to being ready. Just a few more errands in the morning and we should be off by about noon.
Propane tanks are full, gasoline jugs are full, water tanks are full, kayaks aboard, most systems tested and working properly, nav charts and software all updated. There is always more to do, but we can do that underway or whenever.
Earlier today, we cleaned out our old storage unit. Thanks to Brent (both his muscles and his truck) we were able to move the old 38" prop out and into the new storage unit. The old storage unit was great, but since we left the marina, they wanted it back, so we had to vacate. For whatever reason, windshield wiper blades are hard to find. The arms on boats are non-car-standard and a number of blades won't fit. Fortunately, the local Napa Auto Parts store (formerly Piston Service) was there to help. Here is the old blade, bolted into place on the arm. This is looking out through the windshield. The new blade looks similar, but it is a beam-style. Unfortunately, I'm sure I'll get a chance to test it soon enough!
Karen made spicy sausage ravioli in an Alfredo-based sauce with the remaining fresh cherry tomatoes thrown in. And that paired pretty well with a 2021 Long Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve.
No dish faeries tonight, so I had to do them. Our rule... whomever cooks doesn't have to do the dishes.
Night All.
