Well, sort of...

This is what happens when you fuel up at $6.55/gallon.   Good thing I only needed 542 gallons!   By the end of the year, I expect to consume around 1,600 gallons all in.   You can do the math as I don't want to.

That sailboat is looking mighty appealing about now!

And we are off and heading to Alaska.  This picture is just north of Anacortes as we rounded Cap Sante Head.

Today's destination is Echo Bay on Sucia Island, just on the US side of the Canadian border.
While the screen is probably too small to read, the mark denotes where my folks ashes were scattered.   My Dad in 2019 and Mom in 2023.

I sure do miss them.   I talk to them daily.   They usually don't answer, but I can always hear their voices in my head.   They loved me and I loved them very much.   I am so lucky to have had such wonderful parents.   Note, I did not say "perfect"...
Preparing to toss a lovely set of tulips at them.   I know Mom loved tulips, not sure about Dad.
Well, here you go Mom, Dad.   I love you guys!
That is a picture of a dead screen.   Not good as that is my main navigation screen on the flybridge.   Dad must be laughing.   He always claimed that he represented "Disaster Cruise Lines" because there was always something going amiss when he was the captain.   It didn't matter whether it was a chartered boat, his boat, or one that he borrowed - something always went wonky.

Thanks, Dad!

Because misery loved company and things always happen in threes...   This is my engine data display, also on the flybridge, showing no data while we are underway at 1200 rpm...

The last picture is my wonky depth sounder in the pilothouse.  It isn't supposed to look like that...   It is reading the depth OK, but the graphic looks like a bad Jackson Pollock painting.

I love boats.   I hate boats.

So, we turned around and headed back to PMC's dock to work on these items in the morning.

We will ty to get these fixed and get to Nanaimo tomorrow.

Enough.   Boating will drive me to drink!

Dinner was a Thai Chicken Coconut Curry dish, loaded with Sriracha, Chili oil, and crushed Chilies and Garlic.  Put that over rice with some fresh broccoli and you have yum!

We paired that with a bit of last night's leftover 2021 Long Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow!

Good Night.
