A Five Boat-Unit Day...

Meyers Chuck yesterday afternoon at low-ish tide.

The marina at Meyers Chuck.   There is a nice new dock, courtesy of the City & Borough of Wrangell.  The dock has been moved a bit further offshore so both sides are now accessible as well as the new dock is longer and wider than the old one.  A very nice improvement.

Evening in Meyers Chuck with the usual photobombers...

We departed Meyers Chuck this morning at 0826 (8:26am) and headed down to Ketchikan.

In Ketchikan we have a number of packages/supplies/parts waiting for us at the local shipping store (Frontier).  It is very hard to get items up here, so we order them well in advance and have them delivered to a shipping store in a town we will visit in the future.

In this shipment are some much needed oil filters and CO2 bottles for our SodaStream.

A stealthy cruise ship is creeping up on us.  It is amazing how fast these things are and how they truly do sneak up on you.

He called me on the radio requesting to pass me on my port (left) side.    So, I moved to starboard (right) to give him room.

And here he is only minutes later.  Right off my port quarter (left backside) as promised.

This is one of the Celebrity X cruise ships.

We passed the lighthouse on Guard Island, at the north entrance to Tongass Narrows off of Ketchikan.  The cruise ship is passing us on the other side as we took this photo.

Somewhere along the shoreline of Revillagigedo Island (the island on which Ketchikan resides) is our friend, Marc's home.
Marc took a photo of us as we were passing by.

Admiral Karen handling fenders and lines as we prepare to dock at Petro Marine North in Ketchikan.

Fueling up is going to be a painful/expensive experience...
Petro Marine's docks are shared with the local seaplane service.  That makes getting in & out a bit of a challenge.
Getting ready to take on diesel.

It ended up being 900.2 gallons at just under $5.00/gallon.  Ouch!  Plus, I bought 10 gallons of oil for tomorrow's oil change service.

Hmmm, thinking about a sailboat...

900 gallons translates into just a bit over half of our total fuel capacity.  We could have gone all the way back to Anacortes on our remaining fuel, but it is less expensive here than in Anacortes, so...

Marc joined us for appetizers and conversation.   It is always good to connect with thinking people who like to explore new ideas and Marc excels at that.   We had a good time.   Tammy, we missed you!

We decided to eat out tonight, so we walked up to Oceanview, an atmospherically challenged Mexican/Italian/Burger place.  Odd interior design with tacky Mexican/Italian themes, but pretty decent food.   Yea! I didn't have to do the dishes!

2130 (9:30pm) from our slip at Bar Harbor North in Ketchikan.

See you all in the funny pages...   Good Night, My Friends.
