Incessant Rain all the way to McIntosh Bay...

Karen, Bear Whisperer, (more like Bear Whistler), got the bear to turn and look at us.  Otherwise, you'd have to suffer with a bear-butt picture.  He was on the shoreline about 40 yards from us.  This all transpired at McIntosh Bay in Simoom Sound, in the Broughton Islands, BC.

This bay was not named for Apple Inc. computer products, nor for expensive, blue-metered audio equipment, nor even tree fruit, but rather in recognition of a local pioneer, handlogger, or settler who worked the timber-rich shores of Simoom Sound.

Breakfast underway as we depart Turnbull Cove.  Note the near total lack of visibility...   That is unfortunately all too common up here.

Breakfast underway comprised Karen's special Mexi for Peter spread of two fried eggs in cumin and chili powder, homemade refried black beans, tomatillo salsa, cheese, sliced cherry tomatoes, and sliced fresh jalapenos.  My gosh, but this is delicious!

And a bowl of fresh PNW berries.
And the last of Nicki's frosted blueberry scones.   Totally yummy!
In Grappler Sound.   This is between Turnbull Cove and Sullivan Bay.

Here's another shot to give you more perspective.

The floating community of Sullivan Bay, about half-way to our final destination this morning.  It is a great place, but not on our itinerary this year, so, we pass on by.

Continuing down Sutlej Channel towards Simoom Sound.

A floating Great Blue Heron Island in Simoom Sound.

And another great blue heron flying around our anchorage at McIntosh Bay.

Note the seal head on the left side of this photo.   He was bopping around Blue Redd all day.

We also were visited by a couple of Dahl's porpoises.  They swam in to check us out and then left before I could get a picture of them.
We are all tucked in to our little anchorage.   This is a tight spot, only big enough for one boat.   Look at how green the water is.  We've seen lots of color up here, but not this intense green.  It is like a bright key-lime green.

A panorama shot of the little bay.   The distortion of the wide-angle lens makes this bay look big.   It isn't.   It is maybe 70 yards wide and 100 yards deep.   Just room for one boat.

The sailboat in this photo tried to anchor in here with us but gave up as our nook is too small.   They circled us trying to find a spot both far enough away from us and deep enough.   They gave up and moved over on the other side of the little islets.

Dinner time.   Karen reheated the Irish Stew from a few nights ago and made a salad to accompany it.  I added a bottle of 2023 Long Cellars Reserve Cab Sauv to the mix, and a good time was had by all.

No sunset tonight.   In the rain, all we get is just progressive levels of increasing darkness.   Can't see a darn thing, let alone the sky.

This weather pattern is supposed to stay for another week.   Great.

Good Night, My Friends.
