A Stroll on the Campbell River Spit for Labor Day

Cormorants on an old buoy in the channel at Campbell River B.C.

We took a hike after breakfast up to the Campbell River Spit, about 1.5 miles north along the channel.

We passed by this interesting cemetery full of both gravestones and totems denoting multiple cultures and religions.
A local raven kept squawking at us, so we took his picture.   He didn't seem to mind at all.
A wild rose plant.
View from the end of the Spit looking north up towards Johnston Strait.

Photobombing from the Spit overlooking the estuary and bay.
Cool looking driftwood over river-washed gavel.

We were hunting for a nice worry-stone for Karen.  She has a lot to worry about!   Mostly it is to keep her hands busy when she's not busy taking care of me; and I can be a handful!
Heron along the shore.

And here he is from the other side.

Ducks maybe?

Floatplanes at the base along the inside estuary of the Campell River Spit.

Prepping dinner.   Ginger Onion Chicken stir-fry.  Pretty tasty, but next time I will use less dark soy to keep the flavors lighter.
And the results are in.   The East German judge gave it a 5, while everyone else rated it and 7.5 or 8!  Boy, did that date me...

Of course, that may have had more to do with the 2022 Long Cellars Savor Premium Red Blend.  Lovely!
And sunset on our last evening in Campbell River.   Tomorrow, we are off to Comox, about 35 miles to the south in the Strait of Georgia.  We will meet up with old friends, Rob & Sheila, who we first met in Campbell Rive a number of years ago.   We look forward to catching up.

A cruise ship glides past our marina.   This was one of three in a short span.   They are timing the Seymore Narrows current.

Good Night, My Friends.
