More Fishing...
Today was another day of fishing. We went northwest of Sitka to Kalinin Bay and fished in the surrounding waters. We (Jerry) caught a small halibut and a small rock fish. We are not so happy to say that no fish were harmed today; they were released to spawn another day.
No fish for dinner...
We departed Sitka about 1100 this morning and motored in total fog and rain for the three hours it took to get to Kalinin Bay. This route takes us up a couple of heavily traveled narrow channels. Not that you can tell from this picture, but the channel is probably less than 1/4 mile wide with shoals and rocks on either side. Not nerve-wracking, but I definitely had to pay attention.
Fortunately, the winds and swells were from the south, so we were pretty sheltered as our fishing and Kalinin Bay are all on the south shore.
Wǎn'ān...
Looks like Jerry and Diane have had a great week aboard. Fishing, a parade, fireworks, more fishing and the company of friends! Jo
